Mire való a vizsgálat?

Bizonyos nehézfémeknek való túlzott kitettség szűrésére, kimutatására és monitorozására (nyomon követésére).

Mikor kell a vizsgálatot elvégezni?

Rendszeresen, ha valaki nehézfémmel dolgozik, vagy ha a kezelőorvos nehézfém kitettségre gyanakszik.

Milyen mintára van szükség?

A vizsgálatot a kar könyökhajlati vénájából vett vérből vagy 24 órás gyűjtött vizeletből végzik; ritkán hajból, körömből, szövetből vagy más testfolyadékból.

Hogyan készüljek elő a vizsgálatra?

A mintavétel előtt 48 órával nem szabad halat és más tengeri élelmiszereket fogyasztani. Ha átesett valamilyen beavatkozáson, amely során gadolínium- vagy jódtartalmú kontrasztanyagot adtak be, a mintavétel előtt 96 órát várnia kell.
