Mire való a vizsgálat?

A vizsgálattal a fertőzést okozó Clostridioides difficile (korábbi néven Clostridium difficile) baktériumot és az általa termelt toxint lehet kimutatni.

Mikor kell a vizsgálatot elvégezni?

Olyan enyhe, közepesen súlyos vagy súlyos hasmenés esetén, amely napokon át nem javul, és egyéb okkal nem magyarázható. Különösen akkor kell gondolni rá, ha a beteg az utóbbi időben antibiotikumot szedett.

Milyen mintára van szükség?

A friss, hasmenéses székletből kell egy keveset a steril tartályba tenni. A székletminta lehetőleg ne szennyeződjön vizelettel vagy vízzel. A mintát minél előbb a laboratóriumba kell juttatni, a szállításig hűtve kell tárolni.
